ABOUT

Emaar Properties Overview

Emaar Properties is a Dubai real estate developer listed on the Dubai Financial Market, founded in 1997 by Mohamed Alabbar. It is the master developer behind Downtown Dubai, home to Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall, and behind large communities such as Dubai Hills Estate, Dubai Creek Harbour, Emaar Beachfront, Arabian Ranches and Emaar South. According to the company, it has delivered more than 130,900 residential units in Dubai and other markets since 2002.

Besides homes for sale, Emaar owns and operates shopping malls, hotels and attractions. Its hospitality business covers 41 hotels and resorts, including the Address, Vida and Palace brands. The company also has development operations in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Morocco, Turkey and Lebanon.

In its 2025 results, Emaar reported group property sales of AED 80.4 billion, revenue of AED 49.6 billion and a revenue backlog of AED 155 billion; by 30 June 2026 the backlog had risen to about AED 164.9 billion, according to its first-half results. Its UAE build-to-sell arm, Emaar Development, launched 48 residential projects during the year. For buyers, this scale means a wide choice of apartments, townhouses and villas across price points, with completed communities to inspect before buying off-plan. Prices, payment plans and service charges still vary widely between projects, so compare like-for-like units before you commit.
